Welcome to Universal Auto 323 (“we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our car rental services. By renting a vehicle from us, you agree to comply with these terms.

1. Rental Agreement

  • The renter (“you”) must be at least 21 years old (or 25 for certain vehicles) with a valid driver’s license.
  • A security deposit may be required at the time of rental.
  • The rental period begins and ends as specified in the agreement.

2. Driver Requirements

  • Only authorized drivers listed in the rental agreement may operate the vehicle.
  • A valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and a major credit card are required.
  • International renters must present a passport and an International Driving Permit (if applicable).

3. Rental Fees & Payments

  • Rental rates are based on a 24-hour period, with additional charges for late returns.
  • Fuel must be returned at the same level as provided, or refueling fees will apply.
  • Additional fees may include:
    • Late return fees
    • Cleaning fees (if excessively dirty)
    • Toll charges (if applicable)
    • Traffic violation fines (if incurred during rental)

4. Insurance & Liability

  • Basic Liability Insurance is included but may have limitations.
  • Optional Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) or Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) may be purchased.
  • You are responsible for any damages not covered by insurance.

5. Prohibited Uses

  • The vehicle must NOT be used for:
    • Illegal activities
    • Off-road driving
    • Towing or transporting hazardous materials
    • Racing or reckless driving
    • Transporting more passengers than seat capacity
    • Smoking or carrying pets (unless pre-approved)

6. Breakdowns & Accidents

  • In case of an accident, contact Universal Auto 323 immediately at 401-301-5851.
  • A police report must be filed for any accident involving injury or significant damage.
  • Roadside assistance is available for mechanical failures.

7. Cancellation & Refunds

  • Cancellations made 24 hours before pickup receive a full refund.
  • No-shows or late cancellations may incur a fee.

8. Vehicle Return

  • The vehicle must be returned to the designated location (Mansfield, MA 02048) on time.
  • Late returns beyond the grace period (1 hour) may incur extra charges.

9. Dispute Resolution

  • Any disputes shall be governed by the laws of Massachusetts.
  • Claims must be filed in the Bristol County courts.
